Department / Hospital: Facilities Management Department, Kowloon Central Cluster
Pay: HK$34,070 to HK$39,485 (HGPS point 13 - 16) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities:
The appointee will assist a team of professionals in supervising and managing the execution of minor capital works projects and day-to-day maintenance works. The appointee will be responsible for the following main duties:
1. To supervise and monitor a team of technical personnel, including in-house maintenance staff, consultants and contractors in managing, executing, reporting progress of minor capital projects / maintenance works, and preparing inspection report.
2. To assist in preparing documents related to planned and corrective maintenance work and services provided by in-house staff and external contractors on facilities enhancement.
3. To assist a team of building professionals in planning and implementing major and minor capital works projects.
4. To monitor and report the progress of works, the standard of design materials, and workmanship against the user and contract requirements and other recognized standards.
5. To participate in testing and commissioning of buildings, engineering facilities, and hospital equipment.
6. To monitor the progress of outstanding building services / building works and defects rectification works.
7. To handle work requisition, complaint and also prepare Monthly Report, incident report and cash flow.
8. To ensure statutory compliance for the hospitals in facilities management aspects.
9. To assist in enhancing quality, safety and environmental performance on site.
10. To liaise with users, contractors, consultants and other parties on all matters relating to users’ requirements, access, disturbance, programme etc. for efficient execution of works on site.
11. To assist in preparation of purchase requisition and maintain good inventory control of stores.
12. To perform shift duties and be on duty during typhoon / black rainstorm, and to conduct urgent repairs outside normal working hours when required.
13. To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Entry Requirements:
1. a) A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent; OR
b) 5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; OR
c) Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
2. At least 3 years’ site supervisory experience subsequent to fulfilling (1) above.
3. Knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard.
4. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).
Preferred Attributes / Exposure:
1. Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering/Surveying or other construction related disciplines.
2. Obtained certificates/ licenses such as Certificate of registration of Electrical worker, Certificate of Competent Person for confined space, Grade 1 Plumber’s license would be an advantage.
3. Working experience in building consultancy, property management, and contracting firms with relevant professional qualifications is an advantage.
4. Experience in supervising maintenance and improvement works to buildings and building services installations in healthcare facilities.
5. Solid experience in project management including design making, cost estimation and site supervision.
6. Knowledge of facilities management software, BIM, AutoCAD, and MS Office, including Chinese and English word processing, MS Office, PowerPoint, etc.
7. Good report writing skills, interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Good project management skills.
9. Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently.
