Introduction
The Hospital opened in 1992 to replace the Yaumatei Eye Centre as a secondary and tertiary eye referral centre. Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong is housed in the Hospital and it integrates with Hospital’s clinical services. It provides undergraduate training for the medical students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Ophthalmology. Hong Kong Eye Hospital provides regular training programmes in Ophthalmology for Family Medicine trainees, medical students, student nurses, optometry students as well as private practitioners.
