‘BookHA’ offers new case appointment convenience

As of 8 March, Mrs Wong has been able to save time by using the ‘BookHA’ mobile app to complete her booking as a new patient in the Gynaecology Department using her smartphone. After entering her personal information, choosing a specialist out-patient clinic (SOPC), and uploading a copy of her Hong Kong identity document, correspondence address and referral letter, Mrs Wong can submit her appointment booking application.

Any photos she takes through this app will not be stored in the mobile phone to help safeguard the confidentiality of her personal data. ‘BookHA’ can currently only be used to make new case bookings at certain SOPCs. After making a successful ‘BookHA’ submission, Mrs Wong will receive an application confirmation via SMS. She can add the appointment details to the ‘Calendar’ of her mobile phone as a reminder.

‘HA Touch’ will provide the latest healthcare service information

Following the upcoming launch of the ‘HA Touch’ mobile app, Mrs Wong will be able to receive important public notifications issued by HA, as well as phone numbers of public hospitals and clinics, schedules of fees and charges, and waiting times for new case bookings at hospital SOPCs. The app will also provide information on special arrangements for healthcare services under adverse weather and during public holidays. ‘HA Touch’ enables users to share notifications with family and friends via a wide range of popular social media platforms.

‘TouchMed’ enhanced for improved medication safety

With HA’s ‘TouchMed’ mobile app, Mr Wong simply selects the appropriate pharmacy and enters his dispensing ticket number. When the prescription is ready, he will receive alert on his smartphone and can flexibly arrange time to collect the medications. To further enhance patient services, HA’s IT team and the Chief Pharmacist’s Office plan to introduce barcode scanning features to ‘TouchMed’. Patients can access specific drug information efficiently by scanning the barcode printed on the drug dispensing label for improved medication safety.

‘PWH AE Aid’ provides real-time A&E waiting status

The ‘PWH AE Aid’ mobile app developed by Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) offers a valuable service to patients such as Mrs Wong who may prefer to bring her boy to see a private doctor rather than spend a lot of time waiting in the Accident & Emergency Department at the hospital. The app provides the current ticket No. and No. of patients waiting for semi-urgent and non-urgent cases, as well as the contact details of nearby private clinics that are open at the time the information is searched.
