ix awarded staff members and five awarded healthcare teams joined the 2011 Outstanding Staff and Teams Award 2011 Presentation Ceremony on 12 May. Established in 1993, this annual Hospital Authority award recognises outstanding patient care.

"During the selection process, members of the selection committee were impressed by the incredible accomplishments of the awardees. Even working under great pressure, they are still capable of finding ways to improve service," said Mr Peter Lo, former Chairman of HA Human Resources Committee.

HA Chairman, Mr Anthony Wu also paid tribute to awardees at the ceremony. He said, "Our award-winning colleagues come from various departments, including doctors, nurses, clerical and support staff, as well as multi-disciplinary teams. They demonstrated tender loving care and team spirit. We are honoured and proud of them. I would like to express my gratitude to the contributions of all award-winning colleagues and wish them every success in the future."

r PY Leung, who was among the judging panel of this year's Outstanding Staff and Teams Award, praised　all the participants for their positive energy, despite heavy workloads and a stressful environment. In his blog,　he thanked them for their impressive performance, upbeat attitude and ability to bring cheer to patients.

He values their wisdom and passion, while creating a lively atmosphere to light up patients' lives. In the coming 12 months, Dr Leung will share the stories of the 60 award nominees and shed light on other good deeds within the HA hospital network, celebrating the best of human nature.
