he HA's Chairman, Mr Anthony Wu, and its Director (Cluster Services), Dr Cheung Wai-lun, have been named as Chairman and Co-opted Member of the Medical Sub-Committee under the Steering Committee of the Community Care Fund, respectively.

The appointments were recently announced by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, who also serves as the Steering Committee's Chairman. The Medical Sub-Committee is one of four that have been established to deliberate the types of programmes to be funded and the priorities under their respective portfolios, for overall consideration by the Community Care Fund's Executive Committee and endorsement by its Steering Committee. They will also be tasked with implementing programmes endorsed by the Steering Committee and monitor their effectiveness in helping those in need within the community.

The Fund's other Sub-Committees will focus on Education, Home Affairs and Welfare. Their member's terms of office will run until 31 December 2012.
