Congratulations to All Cheers to Love U All Awards recipientsˇ@

The excellent attributes of more than 60 colleagues involved in different aspects of patient care at various hospitals were commended at the "All Cheers to Love U All Awards" presentation ceremony in early September. On behalf of the Authority, our Chairman, Mr Anthony Wu, praised them for "Exemplifying the HA values of People-centred Care, Professional Service, Committed Staff and Teamwork. Your good deeds make every one of us in the HA feel proud."

Over 80 nominations were submitted to the Awards organisers, the Love U All Charitable Foundation, this year. Eighteen individuals and teams of staff members with a total of 60-plus colleagues were selected and recognised for their outstanding patient care with Awards in the four categories: "Most Caring Heart Awards", "Most Touching Story Awards", "Most Beneficial to Patient Awards" and "Most Motivating to Colleagues Awards".

Ms Yim Wai-ling, a Surgery Registered Nurse at Caritas Medical Centre, won the "Love U All Supreme Award" with her exceptional contributions to patient care. Since 2007, she has repeatedly taken unpaid leave from her post in order to go to and provide nursing and caring services to victims in war-afflicted parts of the Middle East. Although she has had to work hard for up to 14 hours a day during these trips, she never complains because she finds the experience of serving such patients alongside other volunteers is a good opportunity to validate the importance of the nursing profession.

"I hope to set an example for the younger generation through my voluntary services, and I hope they will feel inspired to make good use of their time by contributing to worthy causes," she said when she received her Award.

The Love U All Charitable Foundation was set up by a group of volunteers and caring citizens in 2009. It aims to encourage and commend those who provide selfless and caring services.
