New Territories East Cluster goes all out to promote VMV

In our January issue, we reported how the Hong Kong West and New Territories West Clusters have launched our new Vision Mission Values (VMV). Have you noticed what your cluster or hospital has been doing in this regard?

This time, we're focusing on the New Territories East Cluster (NTEC), which has been devoting a lot of time and effort to do its utmost to promote VMV. It's a perfect example for us all.

From June 2008

An ongoing series of "People Workshops" is launched for the Cluster's experienced Registered Nurses. These focus on "Values", including "People-centred Care," "Committed Staff" and "Teamwork". Thirty-three of the Workshops were held between June 2008 and January 2010, and they were attended by more than 1,200 staff members in total.

March 2009

Dr Fung Hong, the CCE of NTEC, promotes VMV to all its staff members in a message entitled "New Mission" on the Cluster's newsletter NetEast.

7 March 2009

The VMV Bears are first introduced to our colleagues in the Cluster in an article entitled "Innovation" in the CCE's blog.

September to October 2009

A number of articles about VMV appear in the CCE's blog, including "A New Service Culture", "The Philosophy of Fish" and "No Good or Bad Ways".

October to December 2009

Patients, their relatives and healthcare workers are involved in shooting a series of six videos on the theme "Patient-centred Care". The videos' contents emphasise the HA's new Mission of "Helping People Stay Healthy". They have already been broadcast on the Cluster Intranet.

December 2009

VMV tent cards are distributed to the Cluster's staff members during their Annual Staff and Family Fun Day at Noah's Ark in Ma Wan Park on 12 December. More than 300 colleagues put the VMV tent cards together and take group photos.

November 2009 to January 2010

Various departments, including Accident & Emergency and Orthopaedics & Traumatology, and Department Operations Managers and Senior Nursing Officers organise workshops focusing on the message of "Happy Staff, Happy Workplace".

January to April 2010

The Cluster is preparing for the "World Day for Safety and Health at Work" to be held on 28 April 2010. It will include displays of team photos taken in a number of hospital locations. Starting in January, the Cluster is appealing for staff to describe the merits of their respective departments in entries for "Happy Staff, Happy Workplace Awards".

February 2010

"Teamwork Forum" is held for colleagues to share stories on team spirit.
