Extraordinary achievements by ordinary people

In this edition of HASLink, we hear how a nurse devised a way to manage hospital beds centrally and speed up admissions when she noticed patients were waiting in accident and emergency department. We learn how a doctor saved the life of patients by creating a 24-hour Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention service. We discover how a team provided around-the-clock monitoring of vital patient specimens by connecting the information systems of different departments and developed a real-time tracking system. And we tell the story of how another team fulfilled the dreams of paediatric patients and reignited their passion for life for 12 years.
We are all ordinary people, but we are capable of extraordinary feats at appropriate space and time. This year, 21 colleagues and six teams have been recognised. Each of them has achieved the extraordinary through commitment, ingenuity, and teamwork. Let’s give them our applause and heartfelt thanks.
