Lifelong learning

Training is critical for the enhancement of employees’ skillsets, thereby promoting institutional development. Newcomers must familiarise themselves with their jobs and procedures for hospitals to run smoothly. Established employees, meanwhile, must refresh and update their skills and keep pace with new technologies amid the evolving working environment, so as to fulfil their job requirements.

The Hospital Authority (HA) Academy was created to integrate existing training institutes and standardise governance structure to support the future development of healthcare services. In this edition of HASLink, we introduce how HA Academy promotes motivation and nurtures talent through HA Nursing School, vocational training institute and simulation training centre. Our cover design ‘Level Up’ reflects the work of the HA Academy in ensuring every colleague is equipped to overcome any challenge.

The Greek philosopher Aristotle told us, “For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.” Learning is a lifelong journey. Let’s set out on that journey together.
