Join the joy of volunteering

The Hospital Authority Volunteer Team (HAVT) has recently been established to encourage staff to actively participate in community service, enhance work-life balance and make a positive impact and fulfil the Hospital Authority (HA)’s commitment to social responsibility.

The HAVT will actively participate in activities that have beneficial impacts on the society and adhere to the core values of HA, which include environment protection, home visit, health promotion and events organised by the government, etc. As the government is holding a number of activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the HAVT will fully support this mega event. Furthermore, the 15th National Games will be held in November 2025. Hong Kong will organise eight competition events, including cycling track, fencing and beach volleyball, etc. The HA has registered as group volunteer for the National Games. Volunteering staff are required to speak fluent Cantonese and Putonghua, and have strength and endurance, etc. The HA has already received 682 enrollments. Selected volunteers, through interviews and screenings, will participate in about three to five days of volunteer service at the National Games, National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the National Special Olympic Games and related events. Possible assignments include guest reception, crowd control, transportation logistics, and food and beverage management, etc.

70 HAVT volunteers participated in an event organised by The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon earlier (photo). They visited the elderly and distributed “fortune bags” to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. We look forward to more colleagues joining HAVT and participating in various volunteer activities, to experience the joy of helping others. They might be district-based, health, education or conservation-related activities. Interested colleagues can register via cluster’s Human Resources Department.
