Instant monitoring by CLAP assists the frontline

CLAP processes over 700 million of log events per day, in which around 700 issues are identified for follow-up. The CLAP team keeps instant monitoring on the abnormalities of systems. Most critical IT systems in HA including Clinical Management System (CMS), In-patient Medication Order Entry System (IPMOE), ‘HA Go’ mobile app and infrastructure such as laboratory and radiology department etc., had joined the Centralised Log Analysis Platform (CLAP). The CLAP team developed over 60 insightful dashboards to visualise the log data for instant monitoring. It renders strong support to these IT systems when there is application error, discrepancy, slow response, or security issue, e.g. colleagues access patients’ data which falls outside his duty. CLAP will automatically inform the support team to follow up before the incident happened, thereby minimising the impact. The CLAP team was awarded the Grand Prize in HO IT Quality Award 2021 held earlier.
