New features make ‘HA Go’ “personal care assistant”

Undoubtedly technology is enhancing our lives. The mobile app of Hospital Authority (HA) ‘HA Go’ has been developing into a personal care assistant of patient. It further rolled out a new feature namely ‘MyHealth’ earlier, allowing patients to measure their own health figures, receive health information and read health documents prepared by healthcare workers.
Dr Joanna Pang, Chief Manager (Health Informatics) of Hospital Authority (HA) says, “‘MyHealth’ provides a one-stop platform to manage one’s own health. It comprised of three modules, which include ‘My Measurement’, ‘My Health Info’ and ‘My Record’. With these functions, patients can input their body weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose, body temperature, pain, dizziness and uterine contraction in the app, instead of jotting the health figures down. The data can easily turn to a chart showing the health trend at a glance.”
The healthcare pamphlets collected by patients in hospital are usually illustrated with pictures. However, some of the content, for example the nasal irrigation procedure, is rather complicated to be comprehended by words. The new feature of ‘MyHealth’ comes in handy to provide videos or soundtracks of the health information prescribed by healthcare professionals, facilitating patients to follow the instructions easily.
For patients who need to review information from time to time, ‘My Record’ function is strongly recommended. It can save four types of document issued by in-patient, out-patient and accident & emergency department including patient’s discharge information summary, GCRS reminder, prescription record and referral letter. Some other new features including self-management on peritoneal dialysis, laboratory test results and imaging diagnosis results will also be released in the first quarter of 2022.
In addition, HA Go brings a piece of good news for parents! With ‘HA Go’, parents can now check their kid’s appointment, prescription and payment information via the app by registering an account for their kids.
Download and register ‘HA Go’ now! You can complete the registration at designated hospitals and clinics for verification. Vicky Fung, Senior Health Informatician (S&P) says, if you are ‘iAM Smart’ member, now you can even use ’iAM Smart’ mobile app to activate your ‘HA Go’ account, without the need to visit the hospital in person.
