In view of the overwhelming response of the workshop in 2017, the Institute of Mental Health of Castle Peak Hospital organised the “Evidence-based Low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Strategies for Depression and Anxiety” Two-day Workshop on 13 – 14 December 2019, with a total of 160 mental health care professionals participated. It was our honour to invite Dr. Suzanne SO, Associate Professor from the Department of Psychology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Registered Clinical Psychologist of the Hong Kong Psychological Society to deliver the workshop again.
In the workshop, Dr. SO introduced the structure and assessment of low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Through skill demonstrations and role-plays, participants gained valuable and up-to-date knowledge of the application of low-intensity CBT in treating common mental disorders, including depression, generalised anxiety disorder, phobia and panic disorder.
