The NTEC Hospice and Palliative Day Care Service
Aim
- The centre provides service in the New Territories East Cluster for both cancer and end stage non-cancer patients who are living at home.
- Through symptom control, rehabilitative activities, psychological and social support, recreational activities to maximize the patientsˇ¦ quality of life.
- This helps to minimize caregiver stress and allows caregivers to rest and recuperate.
Scope of Service
Our multidisciplinary palliative team consists of doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, medical social worker, psychologist, pastoral care worker and volunteers. And the service includes:
- Pain and symptom control and monitoring
- Out-patient clinics with treatment procedure
- Rehabilitative activities to maximize potential function
- Lending / hiring of occupational aids to enhance ability in self-care
- Management of lymphoedema
- Group and individual counseling to promote psychological well being
- Social support and mobilizing resources
- Recreational activities to enhance mutual support between patients
Transportation
Hospital transport for patients may be available for certain areas
Referral
Referrals can be made by the patientˇ¦s attending doctor.
Charges
Service charges follow those recommended by the Hospital Authority.
