Painting Exhibition showcased paintings by patients and their relatives

The Hospital invited a Chinese painting teacher, who volunteered to teach the patients and their relatives, aiming to relieve their anxiety, boost self-confidence and rebuild a meaningful life through the art therapy. An exhibition showcasing the paintings of patients and relatives was organized in the Exhibition Hall of the Hong Kong city Hall from 18 to 21 May 2019.

Elderly Supportive Programme 2018-19

In collaboration the Salvation Army Tai Po Integrated Service Centre and Social Welfare Department, the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital organized the Elderly Supportive Programme featuring home visit, health promotion activities and Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on 23 February 2019. Staff members from the Department of Psychiatry, Medical Social Work Department, Physiotherapy Department, Occupational Therapy Department and Community Nursing Services Team volunteered at the event, offering health check, health talk and demonstrating Baduanjin class for Tai Po residents.

Donor Appreciation Ceremony

2017 and 2018 were the momentous years for the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) and Tai Po Hospital (TPH) respectively; the former celebrated its 130th anniversary and 20th year of relocation to Tai Po, and the latter marked its 20th anniversary. The Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Charity Foundation took this opportunity to raise fund for AHNH and TPH from Nov 2017 to Feb 2018, establishing a fundraising committee with the participation of various community leaders and hospital representatives. In order to express profound gratitude to over 600 donors who donated for this fundraising activity, the Donor Appreciation Ceremony was held 7 July 2018.

Opening Ceremony of Tai Po Hospital Jockey Club Integrated Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre

With the generous donation of HKD 39.9 million by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, Tai Po Hospital has built and equipped the Tai Po Hospital Jockey Club Integrated Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre. Since the service commencement in April 2017, the Centre provides a better therapeutic environment for psychiatric in-patients to undergo well-suited and quality rehabilitation trainings, facilitating the patients to re-integrate into the community. The Opening Ceremony of the Tai Po Hospital Jockey Club Integrated Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre was held on 24 January 2018.
