IDENTIFICATION FEATURES

Deciduous trees, 8–12 m tall. Leaves bipinnate; with disk-like glands near the base of petioles and at the insertion of pinnae on rachis; pinnae 2–4 pairs, 6–15 cm long; leaflets 4–8 pairs, 2–4.5 × (0.9–)1.3–2 cm. Heads about 4 cm in diameter; corolla greenish yellow. Pods 15–28 × 2.5–4.5 cm. Seeds about 1 cm in diameter, elliptic, brown.9

MEDICINAL USES

Bark and root bark used in TCM: resolve swelling, relieve pain, stop diarrhoea. Recommended dose: 10–15 g.10
