Queen Mary Hospital Cancer Centre
Introduction
As a leading clinical teaching and research centre, Queen
Mary Hospital is an important driving force behind achieving the best possible
standard of health care for the community of Hong Kong. We deliver services
with "empathy, expertise and excellence".
In addition, Queen Mary Hospital and the University
of Hong Kong has carried out many basic and clinical research projects to
provide better medical services for the community. The establishment of a Cancer
Centre will enhance the services already rendered by the hospital.
Objectives of Cancer Centre
- To co-ordinate and enhance the team efforts in the diagnosis,
treatment and care of cancer patients provided by existing in-patient and out-patient
facilities in various specialities.
- To provide support, and counselling and to enhance the active
role of patients and their families in their treatment and
rehabilitation programmes.
- To promote public education on cancer including its prevention
and early detection.
- To promote research and training in cancer.

High Risk Group Cancer Screening Programme
A High Risk Group Cancer Screening Programme is launched for members
of the community who are defined as "high risk" for
developing cancer. Early detection of cancer leads to improved
outcome.
Mode of Payment
As the special programmes are not funded by the Hong Kong Government
via the Hospital Authority. We would appreciate greatly clients
to make generous donation in meeting its operational cost and
future development.
The operational costs for respective program is HK$1,500. Donations
of HK$100 or more are tax deductible.
