The Patient Resource Centre was established in June 1993 and is managed by the Medical Social Services of Hong Kong West Cluster since April 2009. It aims at providing a comprehensive patient-oriented service and supportive network for patients and their carers; It also strives for building a healthy community through the participation of volunteers and community partners.

Patient Support Programs (e.g. talks, workshops and groups) are organized to render holistic support to patients and their carers. A Community Volunteer Service Program has been implemented to provide one-stop support to discharged elderly patients since 2008.

Volunteers are recruited and trained on a regular basis and they will participate in various kinds of patient support and health promotion programs.

With the support and coordination of Patient Resource Centre, the patient groups organize various programs (e.g. ward visits and sharing sessions) to establish a mutual supportive network among themselves.
