Introduction

The Community Psychiatric Service (CPS) of Castle Peak Hospital offers comprehensive community outreach service for people suffering from mental illness in the New Territories West Cluster.

Mission

We strive to provide the most responsive, flexible and person-centered care for people with mental illness in the community.

Belief

We believe that the provision of care and treatment in the community is the most conductive approach to holistic recovery of people with mental illness.

Goal

People with mental illness can regain control over their own lives; re-integrate into community as ordinary members and gain support from family and community.

Who are we

We are a team of professionals providing multi-faceted and comprehensive service to meet the needs of people with mental illness. Our team consists of psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.

Scope of service

The CPS of Castle Peak Hospital provides the community psychiatric care in the NTWC where includes Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai. Pok Oi Hospital Office is one of our satellite offices locates in Pok Oi Hospital serving residents of Yuen Long district. Under our service, each client is assigned with a case manager who delivers a range of care and treatment according to the individual needs of the client. These services include medication management, psychiatric assessment, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, psychoeducation on stress coping, physical and mental health maintenance, social skills and daily skills training and family counseling.

Key Service Elements

CPS Hotline

To provide risk assessment and referral to relevant services.

Telephone Consultation

To provide mental health information, assessment and brief counseling.

Case management and outreach services

Individual service plan (ISP) will be formulated based on the needs and risk assessment of individual case within the framework of an integrated multidisciplinary model across the continuum of care in a timely manner.

Crisis intervention

To offer assertive community outreach service to patients presenting high complexity level of risk for harm reduction and to prevent the occurrence of community violence.

Family works

To promote entire family mental health and harmony by encouraging clients and family members to participating in supportive counseling and training.

Mental health education

To raise public awareness of mental health in the community.

Consultation and Community Partnership

To work in close partnership with our community partners, such as the Social Welfare Department (SWD), the non Government organizations (NGO), the Housing Department, the schools, and the business sectors to provide coordinated services to those in need of mental health support in the community.

Charges

Our service is free of charge for all citizens of Hong Kong and HK$1,380 per visit for non-entitled persons.

Normal working hours

Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:18 pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday Closed

Extended working hours

Monday to Friday 5:18 pm to 8:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday 8:30 am to 1:54 pm
