Speech Therapy service in MMRC specializes in rehabilitation for people with acquired brain injury. Individually tailored communication / swallowing rehabilitation programs include the assessment and management of acquired speech, language and cognitive impairments and treatment of clients with swallowing disorders are provided.

 

 

Scope of Service

Individualized rehabilitation programmes will be devised for patients who evidence communication and/or swallowing disorders.

 

 

(1) Swallowing Disorder (Dysphagia)

Neurologic Disorders of Swallowing ( Myogenic Disorders of Swallowing /
Neurogenic Disorders of Swallowing / Acquired Peripheral Disorders )

(2) Speech Disorders

Articulation and/or phonological Disorder
Motor Speech Disorders (e.g. Dysarthria, Dyspraxia)

(3) Language Disorders

Acquired language disorders (e.g. Aphasia)
Augmentative Communication Rehabilitation

(4) Cognitive-Communication Rehabilitation

Impairments in orientation, attention, memory, reasoning, problem solving, executive functions

(5) Voice Disorders

Dysphonia

(6) Fluency Disorders

Cluttering
