Special Services:

Special services are rendered to patients to meet their special needs.

Cognitive rehabilitation
Individually designed rehabilitation programmes are offered to patients with various cognitive problems such as orientation, attention, memory etc.

Therapist is assisting patients with orientation problems in familiarizing various places within MMRC.

Seating Service
This seating service includes assessment and provision of an appropriate and comfortable system of seat to enhance function of a patient.

Through the instant visual feedback, patient learns how to sit properly and how to relieve pressure in a most effective way.

Pre-discharge group
This group is designed to help patients and their families to solve problems, which will be faced when patients go home, before patients are discharged. In the group, patients are facilitated and empowered to plan and structure their lives after discharge.

Sharing with others' worries, plans about discharge can be both educational as well as fun.

Extended care
This service is mainly offered to discharged patients who suffer from brain damage or spinal cord injury. The objective is to facilitate patients to adjust and integrate into the community.

Discharged patients with similar problems are gathered together to share their community living know-how.

Therapeutic groups
Some patients may perform better in a therapeutic group for it provides a supportive but friendly competitive environment to them. Educational class for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, transfer group, clerical group are some popular therapeutic groups.

Patients are practicing transfer skills under therapist's supervision.
Leisure pursuit
Leisure is an important component in a balanced life. Different leisure activities will be exposed to patients to facilitate their leisure pursuit.

Narcissus cultivation class is a popular activity during Chinese New Year.
