Behavioural Modification Therapy

Behavioral therapy is the new clinical programme in the Nursing Unit. It has been conducted since the year 2000. Behavioral modification programmes were applied to our head injured patients whose behavior problems may be preventing them from making the best use of various therapies. Behavioral therapy and behavioral modification have generated a technology of learning based on careful observation and concerned with the gradual increment of appropriate behaviors and the decrement of inappropriatebehaviors. The cognitive impaired patients are referred to specially trained nurses for the following:

  1. To further classify their level of impairment, using the Rancho Los Amigos Cognitive Scale.
  2. To use the guidelines provided, and to use behavioral modification and other methods, to upgrade their level of functioning.
  3. To train the families who will be their careers to implement their therapeutic intervention at home.
