Pharmacy Department

The dispensing services of the Pharmacy here have been transferred to the pharmacies of The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay and Fung Yiu King Hospital as a result of the pharmacy integration on 5 February 2001. Drugs dispensed by the two hospitals are delivered to the Centre twice a day to ensure continuous drug supply and to minimise inconvenience to end-users.

Patient counselling is provided by a pharmacist twice weekly to patients staying in the hospital. Patients are welcome to seek the advice of the pharmacist regarding their medications.

Scope of Services:

Patient Counselling
Provides counselling to in-patients wishing to self-administer their medications.

Drug Information
Provision of drug information to clinicians and other healthcare professionals.

Ward Visits
Pharmacy staff visits the wards each week to check and replenish ward stock and deal with any queries the wards might have concerning drug supply.

Night Cabinet
Provides drugs for emergency use when the pharmacy is closed.
