Ambulatory Rehabilitation Centre (ARC)

The Day Rehabilitation Service in MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre has officially commenced in August 1993. The existing capacity is 20. In view of the increasing demand, we are going to increase the capacity to 40 and a new location in first floor will be used to cater for them in 2002. It is called the Ambulatory Rehabilitation Centre (ARC). The clients are those cases who live in the Southern District, Central and Western District. Target clients included some geriatric orthopaedic cases from TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital and stroke patients discharged from Tung Wah Hospital, living in the above districts. Multi-disciplinary team approach will be used such as medical, nursing, allied health including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapist, clinical psychology, prosthetic and orthotics, medical social service will be offered as necessary.
