Aim & Method of Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is a dynamic process in which a person with disability is aided in achieving optimum physical, psychological, social and/or vocational potentials to maintain dignity and self-respect in a life that is as independent and self-fulfilling as possible. (Joanne V. Hickey, 1981)

In order to achieve this aim, our Centre offers inter-disciplinary services. Patients follow specially designed rehabilitation programmes which take into consideration individual needs and limitations. To enhance the re-integration of patients into society as well as to expedite the rehabilitation process, the Centre encourages patients to spend their weekends and public holidays with their families if condition allows. Our Centre requires active participation from both patients themselves and their family members in the treatment process to achieve optimum results.
