Our Services

Organ donation and procurement process involves numerous efforts among various disciplines; Organ Donation Coordinator (ODC) plays a pivotal coordination role in the whole organ donation process.
At the time of donation, Organ Donation Coordinator works closely with the medical and nursing staffs on the referring unit, as well as with the donor’s family.
We build a healthy relationship with the front line staffs and the deceased donors’ families. We help to create a positive environment for the families of brain dead patients and counselling the families for organ donation in making the donation successful.
Follow up information regarding the outcome of the donation is provided for both the donor hospital staff as well as the donor’s relatives.
One of our major roles is education, appropriate education programs are provided for both health care professionals and general public to increase the awareness of organ donation, particular emphasis for frontline staff where most of the donors are identified.

Centralised Organ Donation Register

In November 2008, the Government established the Centralised Organ Donation Register (CODR) to make it more convenient for people to register their wish to donate organs after death. The Register enables authorised personnel (such as the Hospital Authority's Organ Donation Coordinators) to promptly arrange for organ transplants, so that more waiting patients will benefit.
Your continuous support is highly appreciated!
