New Case Appointment Booking

Appointments can be made in person at Psychiatric Specialist Outpatient Clinic (G/F, Block F). When making appointment for children and adolescents, parents or carer should book appointment in person.

Documents required:
1. A valid identity document (e.g. HK Birth Certificate and HKID Card)
2. Referral letter from a local registered medical practitioner issued in the last three months
3. Residential address information (issued in the last 6 months)

The appointment will be given by nurse according to Triage Guideline in general. The triage assessment form and referral letter will be screened by concerned specialist.

Triage assessment for children and adolescents is performed with the patient’s parent or carer who knows the patient well.

Old Case Appointment Booking

Doctor will arrange the next follow-up appointment for patient after each consultation.


Change or Cancel Appointment

  • For patient who cannot attend as scheduled, please call respective clinics during office hours for rescheduling:

  • Default Appointment

    If patients do not turn up on the appointment day, actions will be taken according to the different triage categories. Otherwise, a new referral will be required for rebooking as new case.


    On Day of Consultation

    Patient should return to the hospital for Specialist Outpatient Clinic according to the scheduled date and time on the Appointment Slip. Patient should first settle payment at Shroff (G/F, Block A) or Self-service Kiosks (G/F, Block F) and then proceed to respective clinics for registration. Appointment will be rescheduled if patient is late for 30 minutes.

    Patient must present valid HKID Card or Birth Certificate (for children under 11 years old) for verification of patient identity. Patient should also produce other supporting documents (e.g. CSSA certificate) for fee waiving. “Non-entitled Person’ (NEP) charges may apply to patient who fails to present valid ID documents. No retrospective refund will be accepted.

    New case patient should bring along the referral letter for first attendance.


    Medication Problems

    Follow the instruction on the drug label when taking and storing medications.

    If you encounter shortage of drugs, please call the clinic to seek advice.

    If you feel unwell after taking the drugs, please bring the drugs and the containers to any nearby clinic and seek consultation. In case of emergencies, attend the Accident and Emergency Department. You may also call or come to the clinic to seek advice.


    Non-Emergency Ambulance Transfer Service

    Patients who wish to use the service can inform staff of the specialist outpatient clinic or ward. Those who have been assessed by healthcare staff as meeting the service criteria would be provided transfer between their residence and the hospital at no charge.


    Arrangement under Typhoon Signal No.8 or Black Rainstorm Signal

    Upon hoisting of the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 (or above) or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, Specialist Outpatient Clinics will be closed. Another appointment will be arranged be respective clinics and patient will be notified the new appointment date as soon as possible.
